The Catholic Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representing professionals in the financial investment, legal, charitable foundation, and Catholic communities. The Board is self-sustaining, electing new and replacing members as needed.
PAUL HUCK, CHAIRMAN
Paul Huck is the current and founding board chairman of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. He is the retired Chief Financial Officer of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. where he worked for 34 years before retiring in 2013. Paul also serves as the chairman of the board of Sacred Heart Hospital and Healthcare System, the chairman of the board of the Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation for the Diocese of Allentown, and is a member of the Diocese of Allentown Finance Council. He is a director and chairman of the audit committee for two NYSE traded companies, Orion Engineered Carbons S.A. and AdvanSix Inc. Paul is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has an MBA from Cornell University. He and his wife, Patty are members of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Orefield.
THOMAS J. SCALICI, CFP, CEBS, AIF, VICE CHAIRMAN
Thomas J. Scalici serves as the vice chairman of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Advisors Asset Management, Inc., a Lehigh Valley, PA, based financial services firm. Tom is the vice chairman of Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, a trustee for the Lay and Priest Pension Plan for the Diocese of Allentown, and chair of the St. John Vianney Regional School Board of Limited Jurisdiction. Tom is a graduate of Gettysburg College and has earned his life and health insurance licenses. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses, is a licensed General Securities Principal, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). Tom and his wife Amy are members of the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown.
BETH A. DOBIS BEERS
Beth A. Dobis Beers serves as the secretary of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. Attorney Beers was a general partner in the law firm of Hogan & Dobis, in Easton, PA where she practiced general civil law and litigation until opening her current private practice in Bath, PA. Her current areas of practice include estate administration and planning, real estate, and income tax preparation. She has served as a member of the Second Synod of the Diocese of Allentown and was president of the Diocesan Pastoral Council. Beth was president of the School Advisory Board of Sacred Heart School and also served as a member of the Parish Council of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish of Bath. She graduated from West Virginia University (WVU), the WVU College of Law, and earned an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from the Temple University Beasley School of Law. Beth and her husband, Harvey D. Beers, Jr. are members of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Bath.
Jim Bova serves as a board member of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. He was elected in July 2020 and is chairman of the Audit Committee. Jim is a partner at Campbell, Rappold & Yurasits (CR&Y) Certified Public Accountants in Allentown. His practice area includes Auditing and Tax Preparation for individuals, businesses and non-profits. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jim is active in the community and serves on the board of Promise Neighborhood of the Lehigh Valley, as a member of the DeSales University President’s Council and as a member of the Allentown Rotary Club. He and his wife Maggi have four children and our members of St. Thomas More parish in Allentown, PA.
Mike Guman serves as a board member for the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. His term started in January 2020 and he is a member of the Investment Committee. Mike is Vice President Senior Advisor Consultant for Invesco (formerly Oppenheimer Funds). He has more than 30 years of experience working with financial advisors in the global asset management industry. Mike earned the designations of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA). Prior to working in the financial investment industry, Mike was a running back for the Los Angeles Rams in the National Football League. He is a graduate of Penn State University. Mike is active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Allentown Central Catholic High School and as a volunteer for the Mercy School for Special Learning. He and his wife Karen are members of St. Thomas More Parish. They are the parents of five adult children and the grandparents to nine grandchildren.
JAMES A. RITTER
James A. Ritter serves as a board member of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. Attorney Ritter has been practicing law since 1980 and currently is a Partner with Gross McGinley, LLP where he heads up the firm’s Emmaus Office. Jim concentrates his law practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, small business planning, real estate law and elder law. He is formerly of Ritter & Ritter Law Office, established in 1938 by his late father. Jim is a member and former president of the St. Ann Men’s Group and currently sits on the St. Ann School Board of Directors. He is a member of the Phoebe Ministries Institutional Advancement Committee, and a past president of the Social Action Board of the Allentown Diocese. Jim is a graduate of Lehigh University and earned his J.D. from Albany Law School. He and his wife, Mary, are members of St. Ann Parish in Emmaus.
JANET E. ROTH, M.B.A.
Janet Roth serves as a board member of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. She has been the Executive Director of the Harry C. Trexler Trust since June of 2006 and has served the Trust for more than 20 years. In addition to her experience in private industry, Ms. Roth served on the staff of two public charities: The Pennsylvania Stage Company and Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. Janet is a graduate of Shippensburg University and earned an MBA from Allentown College of St. Francis DeSales. She is a member of the Allentown Rotary Club and past board member of the Allentown Rotary Club Foundation. She serves as treasurer for the Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley, and is a member of the President’s Council of DeSales University. Janet also serves as a member of the Finance Committee of St. Thomas More Parish. Janet and her husband, David Panton, are members of St. Thomas More Parish, Allentown.
Rusty Seyle serves as a board member of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. He was elected in April 2019 and serves on the Investment Committee. Rusty is the Managing Director / Sr. Vice President, Investments for Seyle Hickey Wealth Management of Raymond James based in the Lehigh Valley. He has more than 25 years of experience as a wealth management advisor working with high-net-worth individuals and families. He also assists businesses with group retirement plans, cash management, short-and-long-term financing and succession planning. Rusty holds the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS) designation. Rusty is active in the community and currently serves on the board for St. Michael the Archangel School in Bethlehem. Rusty is a graduate of Clemson University where he also played varsity football. He and his wife Stacy have three children. They are members of Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Bethlehem.
REVEREND MONSIGNOR DANIEL J. YENUSHOSKY V.F.
Monsignor Daniel Yenushosky serves as a board member of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. He is the pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Whitehall, PA, and Vicar Forane (Dean) of the Lehigh Deanery. He serves as chairman of the Diocesan Priestly Life and Spirituality Committee and chaplain of the Serra Club of Lehigh County. Monsignor Yenushosky serves as the trustee of the Edward T. Maleskas Educational Scholarship Fund, a private foundation that provides scholarships to qualified students in the southern Schuylkill County area.
