Conversation #1: The State of Religion & Young People

Presented by Springtide Research

  • 85% of young people leave the Catholic faith seven years after they are confirmed.
  • Pastors are presiding over more funerals than baptisms.
  • What does the future of our faith look like?

In a live Zoom presentation, Dr. Josh Packard, Executive Director of Springtide Research, will share key findings and insights from Springtide’s study The State of Religion &  Young People 2020: Relational Authority. Backed up by solid data (10,516 surveys &  165 interviews) from young people, ages 13-25, the report dissects how young people seek and express faith, and their religious beliefs and practices. The report also offers concrete actionable steps religious leaders can take to engage with and positively impact the lives of young people.

Dr. Packard will highlight findings and voices from Catholic young people, and how they compare to the broader population of young people. It will be followed by a Q&A session.

We look forward to you joining the conversation.
